A4 Point of Sale board

This A4 ‘point of sale’ board is designed for Poppy’s wholesale customers. Placed next to Poppy’s cosies and bags (and more!), it lets the shop and gallery customers learn a little more about Poppy and her business. The brief was to bring it in line with the current style and branding we now have on other promotional material. I produced it in Photoshop CS4 as a collage of different fabrics and photos.

This was a fun, free-hand design collaboration between Poppy and myself. Poppy required the finishing touches and layout designs produced for a set of 6 postcards. Firstly, I took photographs of the the flat appliqued stitched pictures Poppy had designed. Then after scaling and colour-correcting, I added hand drawn text to some of the card fronts. Then, turning to the back designs I took some of the elements from the front and combined them with more hand drawn text and illustrations. Printed on 100% recycled card within 2 miles of Poppy’s studio.

Poppy Treffry / Poster Design

New A3 Sale poster to promote Poppy’s Summer sale in London. The handmade freestyle feel goes well with Poppy’s existing branding. I hand drew the ‘sew last year’ text by hand in Adobe illustrator using a wacom tablet and pen for smooth flowing lines. This would be harder to do with a mouse. The background fabric was created by using a plain library shot of linen and then adding the spots afterwards in Photoshop CS4.

Justin Duance / Brochure

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Justin asked for a brochure that would reflect his contemporary designs, be small and be different. The brochure folds out from a 10cm square to a 30cm square resulting in 18 pages of information. Production costs were kept to a minimum due to its unique folding. Printed in Penzance by Headland Printers.

Steven Roberts / Promo Mailer

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Steven gave carta an open brief for the design and concept of his self promo mailer. The result is a 100mm square, 6 page, three colour design printed on an uncoated matt coloured board to give a softer, less stark feel. With a matching CD case cover and Royal Mail’s new pricing in proportion, the whole package can be sent together in the lowest postage cost band.

Poppy Treffry / product brochure

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Poppy required a brochure design that reflected her love of textiles. The photography was shot locally giving a feel for Poppy’s inspirations which feature in her pieces. The pastel colour palette, informal copy and image blending gives the brochure a warm friendly feel and lets the pieces speak for themselves. Carta is currently designing marketing material and stationery for Poppy.
