2011 Carta Design stats

2011 was a busy year for us at Carta. We designed, built and launched 11 websites, designed 7 logo identities, shot 18 photoshoots, sent 43 e-newsletter campaigns and notched up a total of 339 new jobs in the last 12 months. So, with all that, there hasn’t been a single quiet patch to mention. We’re back from the Christmas break and raring to go.

Thank you to all of our customers for your business in 2011. We hope you have a successful 2012.

Oliver Stacey / Branding

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

A logo identity for yacht designer Oliver Stacey. The brief was to design an identity that was clean, simple and fitting with the industry. The final idea of combining Oliver’s initials was inspired by the flowing and balanced lines that appear in his own boat designs. The identity elements can be repositioned into a number of different configurations to fit the application it’s indented for.

Sapience HR website design

This is a complete redesign and build of Sapience’s website. Carta has worked with Sapience since it was established in 2005 and produced their first website. The time came for a new look and new functionality for the website to meet with the expansion of the business. Continuing with the same strong branding and colours we set about making the site easier to read and navigate. We integrated the cartoon imagery that is used in Sapience’s advertising, to give a visual to each area of expertise that they provide to clients. WordPress has been used to allow an integrated blog and CMS for easy online updating.

Amalwhidden Farm / Website Design

Amalwhidden Farm Coarse Fishery website

Amalwhidden Farm Coarse Fishery has recently been reopened after extensive landscaping and restocking of new fish. The owners, Neil and Julia Hodder, wanted to promote the business via traditional printed material as well as online. We designed a DL sized folded leaflet to be used in advertising racks in local B&Bs, Hotels and Tourist information stands. We then moved on to the website. The requirements were to make it family friendly and welcoming. I also illustrated a map of the ponds and lake to show the features and fishing peg positions. The website is WordPress built so that it can be quickly and easily updated by the Julia and Neil from any PC with internet connection.

poppy treffry courses flyer design

Poppy wanted to advertise her next stitching courses with a striking visual graphic that could be used on a postcard but also on her website and in advertising. It was an open brief but with a hint to the illustration style. A very enjoyable project indeed.

Storm in a Teacup logo

Logo design for china hire company ‘Storm in a Teacup’ in Porthleven, Cornwall. The client wanted a classic, clean look but with a modern feel still. The logo had to be designed so that it could easily be applied to many differing future applications. The muted colour scheme adds to the classic feel along with the Trajan typeface. A website design for ‘Storm in a Teacup’ is currently being undertaken by Carta.

Ecademy Press / Book Design

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Ecademy asked if I could help design another book for them for this social media and SEO business book. The main title is called ‘Fusion’ and relates to the importance of the various marketing tools working together as one. The ‘n’ of fusion made a perfect magnet shape which gives a strong visual element and works with the underlying message of the book.
