We were very honoured to help the new Golowan Festival organisers create a new official website for 2016. They wanted a simple to use / update, easy to read and responsive website to inform the public and Golowan traders about all the news, updates and events happening this year. We built it on WordPress and spent just an hour (it’s that easy to use!) giving a tutorial to the team on how to update the site content. Take a look here www.golowanfestival.org

This new branding design was produced to give the established Cornwall Chiropractic Clinic, in Hayle a fresh new look. Carta is currently helping John and his team to adopt the new branding across all it’s other printed literature and advertising. We’ll update with more of the projects soon.
We were extremely pleased to work with Sarah on re-designing her website for Cornwall Contemporary gallery in Penzance. Sarah needed a responsive ready, clean and with content management for easy updating. The new website saves time and updating costs and also gives full control over the content making it more effective at communicating with their customers. We commissioned Webfooted to build the WordPress theme and structure based on our finalised designs.
This was a fantastic project to be involved with for Health Promotion Services at Cornwall Council. After previous design work for the department the team asked us to help with the re-brand of their EFFO service to SAVVY. SAVVY is a health and wellbeing promotion website and services for young people aged 9-15 years in Cornwall. The new brand needed to appeal visually to this age band and have a positive and upbeat image. After the branding and logo identity were finalised we designed the new website www.savvykernow.org.uk and supporting printed literature that included a standards brochure, Posters, branding guide, leaflets, folders and more.
We’ll try and post more of the items we helped to design here soon.
Sarah at Storylines contacted us to help them realise a new website for their organisation. We’ll let Sarah describe who they are: “Storylines is a Community Interest Company based in Cornwall. We run creative projects and workshops that use the common language of story, to bring generations together to connect, celebrate and share. Using a participatory approach alongside digital technologies, Storylines enables people of all ages to express themselves, share experiences and learn from one another.” This was interesting project to work on in collaboration with Webfooted who did a great job on the website development, build and responsiveness. The site has a cartoon animated main menu that creates an eye-catching welcome for the visitor. The website is fully responsive and uses the WordPress CMS platform.
This season we went even more minimal with a ‘no text’ front cover for the mail-out SS15 Range catalogue. The focus was to have a bit of intrigue and wonder as to what was within. The theme was ‘A Great British Seaside Holiday’ and was staged brilliantly. It begs you to open it! You can see all 16 pages of the A5 landscape catalogue below. Local photographer Matt Jessop did a great job of the photo shoot on the day in St Ives.
We helped local artist Maggie O’Brien produce a brand new website to showcase her fantastic work from past and present. The brief was to keep the layout clean and simple so the work is easily viewed without distraction. WordPress based CMS means that Maggie can update content and blog whenever she wants with the internet browser admin panel.

This was a nice project to work on to develop a logo identity for Evolution, a sports management company dealing with professional sports people. The logo needed a clean, crisp and professional look that portrayed a feeling of trust. Simplicity and flexibility is key when creating a new identify and in this case the circles that make up the top icon represent many aspects. Firstly, a stylised ‘E’ form. Secondly, the colours of the Olympic branding giving a nod to the industry of the customer base. Thirdly, the circles are aligned in an ordered manner and depict clean organisation values.
This was a great project to work on for our existing client. Christian needed a statement piece of literature to showcase his bespoke furniture to public sector customers. With such a high quality range of photography available we decided on a 210 x 210mm format to give the best viewing experience whilst keeping it a nice size in the hand. ‘Less is more’ was the order of the day to let the images do the talking. 16 pages in total, with matt lamination to cover. We also organised and handled the print and delivery of the final brochure.
Christen at Kinesis Fitness came to Carta with help setting up her new business identity, marketing material and website. Starting with the logo identity and working from Christen’s design brief we developed concepts and colour-ways until the final solution. It was then on to the CMS website that is fully responsive and easy to update. Finally, the business card and services leaflet to tie in with the new branding.
