Chy Lowena / Photography
Thursday, May 5th, 2011Chy Lowena is a self-catering holiday cottage in the village of Boscaswell, nr St Just. Recently renovated to make it a large family friendly retreat. The cottage retains many of the original features and is finished in a minimal white palette throughout. Photography of all the main rooms to show how light and welcoming the cottage is was key whilst also showing the feature details.
Polgoon Vineyard / Photography
Tuesday, April 12th, 2011This was a nice product shot job for Polgoon Vineyard who are just down the road from the studio. They required product and pack shots of their new red wine and ciders. Shot using my litecube, allowed for complete white backgrounds as requested. A little post-shoot retouching to clean up dust and scratches was needed to finish.
Penwith House / Photography
Saturday, February 26th, 2011Penwith House is a spacious self-catering town house in St Just. The owner wanted to improve the photo gallery section of their website with new interior shots. The challenge was to shoot in December with little natural light. Extra photographic lighting and a bit of post-shoot retouching ensured a colour correct finish.

Debbie Lord / Photography
Tuesday, August 10th, 2010
Debbie’s glass fusion pictures are full of bright colours depicting Cornish scenes. Because of the reflections caused by the glass, photographing them is a little more tricky. Using a light tent to house the pictures for shooting eliminated unwanted reflections from surrounding objects. Lighting came from top and sides for even colour. A bit of post-shoot tweaking to the colour and white balance in Apple’s Aperture software finished them off.
A photo from Paris 2008 trip / Blog
Friday, August 6th, 2010I just came across this photo I took in Paris back in 2008. It was taken in one of the gardens lining the Champs-Elysées. I asked my wife (left) and our friend, who was guiding us around Paris, to sit on the bench so I could get the scale with the large fingers sculpture behind them. I shot it from across the park to get the flatness that I was after. I also like the uniform siting position – which wasn’t staged.
Emma Ginnever / Photography
Tuesday, June 1st, 2010Photography for Emma Ginnever’s jewellery collection. Emma was looking for a natural relaxed atmosphere from the lifestyle photos. We used my home for the location shots as it’s quite muted in colour with all the vintage and Victorian features. The white background product shots were taken in the light-tent and lit from top and bottom to eliminate shadow to get the clean look we were after. (more…)
