Amalwhidden Farm Coarse Fishery website

Amalwhidden Farm Coarse Fishery has recently been reopened after extensive landscaping and restocking of new fish. The owners, Neil and Julia Hodder, wanted to promote the business via traditional printed material as well as online. We designed a DL sized folded leaflet to be used in advertising racks in local B&Bs, Hotels and Tourist information stands. We then moved on to the website. The requirements were to make it family friendly and welcoming. I also illustrated a map of the ponds and lake to show the features and fishing peg positions. The website is WordPress built so that it can be quickly and easily updated by the Julia and Neil from any PC with internet connection.

poppy treffry courses flyer design

Poppy wanted to advertise her next stitching courses with a striking visual graphic that could be used on a postcard but also on her website and in advertising. It was an open brief but with a hint to the illustration style. A very enjoyable project indeed.

Storm in a Teacup logo

Logo design for china hire company ‘Storm in a Teacup’ in Porthleven, Cornwall. The client wanted a classic, clean look but with a modern feel still. The logo had to be designed so that it could easily be applied to many differing future applications. The muted colour scheme adds to the classic feel along with the Trajan typeface. A website design for ‘Storm in a Teacup’ is currently being undertaken by Carta.

Justin Duance watch photography

These are the watch photos I took for inclusion in Justin’s latest brochure that I designed recently. taken in the litecube on a Canon D30. The close up of the movement was taken with a 2:1 macro lens.

Ecademy Press / Book Design

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

Ecademy asked if I could help design another book for them for this social media and SEO business book. The main title is called ‘Fusion’ and relates to the importance of the various marketing tools working together as one. The ‘n’ of fusion made a perfect magnet shape which gives a strong visual element and works with the underlying message of the book.

The Padstow Mussel Co. / newsletter

Wednesday, May 11th, 2011

Susie wanted a way to keep her existing customers up to date with the latest news and products from TPMCo. E-newsletters are a very cost effective way of getting this info to them. I first created a template design to reflect the website design, this gives brand recognition forth viewer. Each e-newsletter sent retains the header and footer info and changes are made to the centre news section. Sent with MailChimp.

Chy Lowena is a self-catering holiday cottage in the village of Boscaswell, nr St Just. Recently renovated to make it a large family friendly retreat. The cottage retains many of the original features and is finished in a minimal white palette throughout. Photography of all the main rooms to show how light and welcoming the cottage is was key whilst also showing the feature details.

Ecademy Press book design

A book cover and text design for a business help book. With the title being so strong and simple I thought it should be dominant in the design. A play on the word ‘stupid’ by flipping the d highlights the fact that we make mistakes.

Justin Duance / Brochure Design

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

This is the second brochure I’ve designed for Justin. This time Justin wanted a more utilitarian / traditional feel; something that harked back to the old packaging boxes of the 30′s. After liaising with Headland Printers on various paper swatches we went for a pulpboard cover and 100% recycled Cyclus inner pages. Cyclus is an off-white and has a nice coloured fleck to it. A6 in size meant it could be posted in Justin’s smallest jiffy bag size. The brochure is finished with a new square stitched spine to give it a book feel.
